Moffat in the heart of Southern Scotland, 3 minutes from the M74, is a great place to visit. From first glance Moffat is an attractive town, a coaching stop and 19th century spa town. Moffat is an outstanding conservation town with modern amenities. Moffat is a great base to discover the Borders and Dumfries & Galloway and is only 50 miles from Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Moffat is also popular with people who enjoy motor-biking, mountain biking, fishing, walking and golfing. There is a local 18 hole golf course available and another 10 golf courses situated within 25 miles of the town. Some of these courses include Troon, Turnberry and Old Prestwick.
Moffat is Scotland's first "Walkers Are Welcome" Town and has recently launched seven newly way-marked walk routes, as well as holding an annual Walking Festival which starts on the first Friday in October.
